Fountainbridge lies around half a mile west of Edinburgh City Centre. It stretches from the edge of Grassmarket in the city centre down towards Dalry in Edinburgh West. Along the way, it passes by Tollcross, Bruntsfield, Dalry and Haymarket.

The very popular Edinburgh Meadows is located only ten minutes away from the northern border of Fountainbridge. Dalry Community Park is also close to the southern border of Fountainbridge.
