ESPC can reveal the ten most popular properties on espc.com during December 2022, racking up more views than any other homes listed on the website.

A stone-built terraced house in Morningside.

This three-bed house in Morningside was the third most viewed property in December

Properties in the top ten list were located in a range of areas from the highly sought-after region of East Lothian, to the desirable suburbs of Edinburgh.

From October-December 2022, the City of Edinburgh continued to be a desirable place to live with the area experiencing no percentage change in Home Report valuation with the average remaining at 105.6%.

This is positive news for buyers – in the past year we’ve seen some properties sell upwards of 10% over Home Report value and this cooling of the market means those who have been waiting to see how the market pans out may be encouraged to come forward.

Homes sold the fastest in the west of Edinburgh with a median selling time of 16 days. When analysing specific housing types, three-bed houses in Corstorphine sold quickest, in 13 days.

Four of the top ten properties in December 2022 were located in East Lothian. Boasting excellent schools, transport and amenities, plus an idyllic setting between the Capital, the coast and the countryside, East Lothian’s popularity shows no signs of waning with ESPC’s active home buyers.

This was also reflected in the latest ESPC House Price Report which found that in the last three months of 2022, East Lothian properties attained the most over Home Report valuation, with properties achieving 108.5% of their valuations on average. East Lothian homes also went under offer the fastest during this period in a median time of just 14 days.

In terms of property type, seven of the top ten homes in December had at least three bedrooms, demonstrating that demand is still strong for larger homes that offer buyers flexibility to accommodate family living and hybrid working.

We’ve highlighted the top ten most-viewed properties on espc.com during December 2022 below:
