Hermiston is a semi-rural suburb of Edinburgh conveniently situated on the western edge of the city within a short walk of Heriot-Watt University. Properties in Hermiston are mainly rural cottages and converted steadings. Nearby Juniper Green, Currie and Balerno offer local shopping and there is a Tesco supermarket very close to hand at Hermiston Gait plus a number of national chain outlets.

A little over 1 mile to the north east is the Gyle Shopping Centre with a wide choice of retail facilities including Marks and Spencer, Boots and Next. Leisure is well served with popular health and leisure centres at the nearby Gyle Park, Marriot, Norton House and Dalmahoy Hotels, the latter of which also has a golf course. The popular Ratho Park Golf Club is also close by.

A short walk takes you to a Park and Ride facility with regular public transport services to the City Centre, many parts of Lothian and beyond. Hermiston is also strategically positioned for quick access to Edinburgh International Airport and the central Scottish motorway network.
