The Canongate, an area rich in culture and history in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, forms the lower part of the Royal Mile leading down to the Palace of Holyrood. Canongate properties are mostly tenement flats and mews homes. Popular local areas include The Grassmarket, The Pleasance and Calton Hill.

The narrow closes and lanes create a unique atmosphere and excellent local amenities include specialist shops, bars and restaurants. Edinburgh University, Edinburgh Art College and the new Scottish Parliament building are all within walking distance, as are the main shopping and commercial thoroughfares of Princes Street and George Street.

Green Space

Canongate doesn't have much green space itself, however Calton Hill and Holyrood Park are within walking distance. 

Nightlife

If you're looking for a night out, you're only a short walk away from the numerous bars and nightclubs around the Royal Mile and Cowgate.
