The ten properties that topped the list of most viewed homes on espc.com in October collectively amassed an impressive 93,348 views, underlining the continued strength of buyer interest across East Central Scotland’s property market.

Reflecting the ongoing demand for spacious family living, all ten properties were houses, each offering three or more bedrooms. The breakdown included three five-bedroom homes, four with four bedrooms, and three featuring three bedrooms - clear evidence that buyers are prioritising larger homes with ample space and long-term potential. Notably, no flats appeared in this month’s top ten, further reinforcing this trend.

October’s list also highlighted strong engagement with higher-value homes, as seven of the ten properties were priced at £500,000 or above. Overall, the properties ranged in price from £250,000 to £865,000, with an average price of £621,000 and a combined total value of £6.21 million. This demonstrates that a significant proportion of buyers are operating in the mid-to-high-end segment of the market, seeking high-quality, family-sized homes.

Geographically, Edinburgh once again dominated, with six of the ten most viewed homes located in the capital. East Lothian also made a strong showing with three entries - reflecting the enduring appeal of its scenic coastal towns - while a single property from Fife rounded out the list. The regional spread suggests continued demand for properties that balance lifestyle appeal, accessibility, and space.

Buyer enthusiasm translated into market activity, with six of the top ten properties already under offer by the end of October, and the remaining four still available. All ten listings adopted an ‘offers over’ pricing strategy, underscoring sellers’ confidence in achieving strong sale prices amid sustained buyer competition.

Paul Hilton, CEO of ESPC, commented:

“The October data clearly shows that family homes remain at the heart of market demand, with all ten of the most viewed properties offering at least three bedrooms. This preference for larger, long-term homes highlights that many buyers are seeking flexibility and space, whether for growing families, homeworking, or lifestyle comfort.”

“It’s also notable that seven of the ten properties were priced at £500,000 or higher, indicating that there’s significant activity in the upper end of the market. Buyers are showing strong interest in quality homes that meet their aspirations, and the continued use of ‘offers over’ pricing across the board shows sellers’ confidence remains high.”

“Edinburgh continues to lead the way, accounting for six of the top ten most viewed properties, but we’re also seeing impressive engagement in East Lothian and Fife, where lifestyle appeal and coastal living remain strong draws. With over half of the homes already under offer, it’s clear that buyer motivation remains robust as we move into the latter part of the year.”
