Liven up in Leith
Did you know?
Leith is a district and former municipal burgh in the north of the city at the mouth of the Water of Leith and is the Port of Edinburgh. In recent years Leith has undergone significant regeneration and is now a busy port with visits from cruise liners.
It is the home of the Royal Yacht Britannia, Ocean Terminal, and administrative offices for several departments of the Scottish Government. The shore area of Leith, is now a centre for a range of new pubs and restaurants in charming surroundings.

With a number of modern new build homes available in up and coming developments, shore side accommodation and more traditional tenement style flats and houses, you won’t be short on variety either. We suggest that you use our espc.com to search for a property in Leith or turn to the Limelight or property sections of the paper to give you an idea of the sorts of properties available.
Shop till you drop
Leith has a variety of retail spots so walking through this hive of Edinburgh can be a slow process as you pop into artisan beer shops, florists and clothing stores. However, if you want to go to somewhere with everything in one place then Ocean Terminal is the place to go.
A leisurely walk from The Shore or a short bus trip from further afield will have you at this mall in no time and once you are there you can wine, dine, watch a film, get in a gym workout or a spa session and shop all in one place. With many on-going offers such as in store discounts or events like fashion shows, you will find a bargain more often than not at this fashionable location.
Eat Out
Chop Chop is a fantastic place to dine out in the trendy shore area of Leith. Lorraine Moodie, Leith resident and talented graphic designer for our ESPC Marketing team, paid a visit to a local Leith restaurant Chop Chop to taste a sampling of what they had to offer on their menu. She took colleague Vicky along for the meal and this is what they had to say:
“Leith is known for its eclectic mix of cultures and the cosmopolitan Shore district is famous for its restaurants. If you are looking for a truly authentic Chinese culinary experience Chop Chop in Leith is the place to go.
The menu has a huge range of traditional dishes that originate from the Chinese mainland. Each dish is prepared with quality ingredients and flavoured naturally using herbs and spices, expertly cooked to such a standard that the beef just melts in your mouth. A mix and match of small and large plates of different dishes make up a tantalizing meal to share among guests.
This wonderful experience is enjoyed in a warm, friendly and laid back and relaxed environment with traditional music playing softly in the background adding to the ambience. As an added treat, patrons can choose from a delightful desert menu - I recommend the peanut dumplings with ice cream.”
