You'll find the ever-popular suburb of Leith in the furthest north-east corner of Edinburgh, looking out onto the Firth of Forth. In recent years Leith has undergone significant regeneration and is now a busy port with stunning cruise liners regularly making an appearance. It is the home of the Royal Yacht Britannia, Ocean Terminal, and an extremely generous selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There are also several business parks and offices in the area.

Leith does not have its own train station, however Lothian Buses operate several routes in the area. Currently the number 7, 14, 16 and 49 travel between Edinburgh's city centre and various parts of Leith. Have a look at the Lothian Buses website to stay up-to-date

The southern boundary of Leith borders the city centre, with many of Edinburgh's top attractions within walking distance. The northern areas of Leith are also still no more than an hour's walk away from Edinburgh's city centre. 

Several cruise itineraries depart from Leith Harbour. Most of these cruise liners are heading around the UK and Ireland, with some heading up to the Faroe Islands or Northern Europe. Some however, are long haul and heading for an adventure in North America.
