Just minutes from the renowned shopping establishments on Edinburgh's George Street and Princes Street, the West End enjoys all the benefits of City Centre living without the hustle and bustle. The West End is also one of Edinburgh's most beautiful areas and The West End Conservation Area even forms part of the UNESCO Edinburgh World Heritage Site.

The University of Edinburgh is located not far from the West End. Students who live in the eastern area of the West End would have no more than a 20 minute walk to the main building.
Transport
Haymarket Train Station is located within Edinburgh's West End and residents located in the eastern end of the West End are only a 10 minute walk from Waverley Station, where they can take a train to numerous locations across the UK. The trains between Haymarket and Waverley are frequent. Plus, a lot of the longhaul trains heading in the eastern direction from Waverley stop off in Haymarket as well.
The Edinburgh Tram also passes through Edinburgh's West End, with two stops. One in the heart of the West End itself and the other in Haymarket. For motorists, there is direct access, via the A8 westwards through Corstorphine, to all major motorway networks, Edinburgh Business Park, the Gyle shopping centre, Edinburgh International Airport and the Forth Road Bridge.
Food Shopping
Edinburgh's West End does not have large supermarket. All food shops are convenience stores or medium sized supermarkets. Tesco Express is commonly found in the West End.
Other Shopping
You'll find a beautiful selection of boutique shops in the West End. Princess Street, with its impressive high-street shopping, lies partially within the West End.
Green Spaces and Parks
Princes Street Gardens is partially located in the West End, which is great for a picnic or sunbathe on a sunny day. The Water of Leith Walkway also passes through the West End, via the Dean Village.
Residents who are located in the southern and eastern ends of the West End will also be able to walk to the Meadows in just over 10 minutes.
