Favourite watering hole: Behind the Wall – with two children we don’t go out so much now but it was always the old favourite!

Favourite place for eating and why: Gulnar Indian Restaurant in Larbert has excellent food and had been run by the same family for 30 years.

An interesting fact about the area: Falkirk is home to the world's only rotating boat lift – the Falkirk Wheel. It connects the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Union Canal.

What I love the most: Falkirk is right in the middle between Glasgow and Edinburgh, so with the excellent rail and road links it is easy to access both cities quickly.

Favourite local business: Marshall’s family bakery which opened shop on Manor Street last year.  It’s a family run business selling amazing cakes and bread – delicious!

Best kept secret: It's home to Barr's Irn Bru!

How would you describe the style of properties in the area: Very varied. We have everything from one-bedroom flats right up to old Victorian-style properties in the centre of Falkirk, along with new housing estates with spacious modern four- and five-bedroom villas.

Describe the area in 3-words: Social, vibrant and accessible.

Is there anyone famous associated with the area: David Weir the footballer who played with Everton and Scotland and Bob McGregor, nicknamed the Falkirk Flyer, is a swimmer who won silver in the 100m freestyle at the 1964 Olympics.
