About Tranent

ESPC solicitor estate agents market and sell a wide variety of properties throughout East Lothian.

Tranent is a small market town in East Lothian, nine miles east of Edinburgh, making it ideal for commuting to Edinburgh on the regular bus service provided.

There are a number of interesting historic buildings which form a d-shape around the town including the old parish church, parts of which are 15th century while a few miles southwest of the town stands Fa'side Castle, sometimes known as Falside or Fawside.

Tranent is a business, tourist and market town with a modern civic square. Very popular with commuters it provides all the benefits you would expect from a town close to a major city and maintains its own character.

What the locals say

Laura Woodmansey is a local resident, selling her home through ESPC. Here's what she thinks about living in Tranent.

"Tranent is a fantastic place to live. Since I moved there in 2011 the area has been improved greatly by the addition of shops like Asda and Aldi.   Living with my young daughter the park facilities are all so close to hand and all very well maintained.  The new soft play facility at the Loch Centre which opened recently is also within walking distance so there are so many things to do.

The public transport links to Edinburgh and the rest of East Lothian are extremely reliable and cost effective.  East Lothian is a beautiful part of Scotland and it’s all within easy reach from Tranent.

Tranent also has great community spirit and there’s always something fun going on."

Whether you are looking for a house, flat, bungalow, apartment, new build or any other kind of property for sale or for rent, ESPC may have the one in Tranent that you are looking for.
