About the area

A series of small villages have blossomed over the years, forming interesting communities within the South West Edinburgh locale. Bordered on one side by natural landscapes, verging with the Pentland Hills Regional Park, and West Lothian on another, it has good access to major transport links with the likes of the A71, A720 and A702 surrounding this constituency.

With the city of Edinburgh just a few miles drive away, extensive retail opportunities are afforded to the residents of this enclave; however there is also a good variation of local shopping and amenities within the general area.

Growth and development

Local school children are in for a treat in Balerno as the beginning of the 3G Synthetic Pitch at Malleny Park began recently; the all-weather pitch will be perfect for sports such as football, rugby and athletics.
