Transport

St Leonards does not have its own train station, however Waverley Train station is only a 25 minute walk from the furthest part of St Leonards. It's less of a walk for people who live in the northern half of St Leonards. From Waverley, residents can take a train to numerous locations Edinburgh, Scotland and the UK. Residents of St Leonards can also walk to Edinburgh Bus Station within half an hour, where they can catch a Megabus or CityLink bus to locations across Scotland and the UK. There isn't much green space in St Leonards itself, however the Meadows is only a 15 minute walk away and Holyrood Park, which is home to Arthur's Street, runs along St Leonards eastern border.

Residents can register for a GP at St Leonards Medical Centre or Newington Surgery. Parkside Dental Practice is the only dentist within St Leonards, however Hope Park Dental Practice is only a stone's throw away and is located beside the University of Edinburgh. 

Sport & Fitness

The Royal Commonwealth Pool is only a quick walk from the southern border of St Leonards. It is home to three indoor pools, a gym and three fitness studios.

Pleasance Sports Complex & Gym, which belongs to the University of Edinburgh, can be found in the top north-eastern corner of St Leonards. The complex is home to a multi-purpose gym as well as sports halls for a range of sports including badminton and basketball, and two climbing rooms. 

Food Shopping

Lidl is the only supermarket in St Leonards itself, however there is a Tesco Express and Sainbury's Local. There are also two Chinese supermarkets, Starlight Chinese Supermarket and Superior Oriental. 

Nightlife

There are several pubs and bars located within St Leonards itself. You are also less than a 20 minute walk from the student-friendly nightclubs on the Royal Mile and around Cowgate.
