Mayfield is in Midlothian, just south of Dalkeith, not far from Edinburgh. It is conveniently located for access to the A68 and A7 south. Built originally to help accomodate workers from the nearby collieries in Newtongrange and Easthouses, Midlothian has grown substantially since the 1950's.
Edinburgh is easily accessed by bus or car, and there will be a new railway line nearby in the near future.
With three primary schools in Mayfield, there is a large demand for family houses with a high proportion of children and young people under the age of 25 living in the area.
