The most popular homes on espc.com in September 2025
The ten properties in our list of most viewed homes, which collectively amassed over 93,000 views, highlight a continued strong demand for houses over flats. Nine of the properties on the list were houses, with the tenth being a two-bedroom upper flat. The data also indicates that buyers are increasingly looking for long-term potential, with eight of the properties offering three or more bedrooms, and two featuring five or more bedrooms. This suggests that the focus is on family homes rather than traditional first-time buyer options.

Prices among the top ten properties ranged from £285,000 to £1,500,000, with an overall average of £545,000, reflecting a broad spectrum of buyer budgets, from mid-range family homes to premium properties. Only three properties were priced under £350,000, emphasizing a stronger market for spacious, well-located houses rather than entry-level options.
Looking at location, Edinburgh was once again at the centre of activity, accounting for six of the top ten most viewed homes. East Lothian contributed two properties, both benefiting from attractive coastal settings, while single properties from Midlothian and the Scottish Borders completed the list. Indeed, properties either on or close to the coast were well represented, as six of the top ten where within easy reach of the seaside.
Reflecting buyer urgency, four of the top ten properties were already under offer by the end of September. Most of these sought-after homes were listed in move-in-ready condition, suggesting that buyers value a smooth transition into their new homes. Additionally, nine of the ten properties were marketed as “offers over,” with just one listed at a fixed price, further demonstrating strong seller confidence in the current market.
Paul Hilton, CEO of ESPC, commented:
“The latest data from espc.com underlines several key trends in the Scottish property market. The overwhelming interest in houses over flats, with nine of the ten most viewed homes being houses, shows that buyers are increasingly prioritising space and long-term value. This aligns with a broader shift towards family homes and properties that can accommodate lifestyle changes, rather than purely entry-level options.
“Edinburgh continues to dominate buyer attention, with six of the top ten properties located in the capital, reflecting not only the city’s enduring appeal but also the resilience of its property market. East Lothian’s coastal properties are also proving highly attractive, suggesting that lifestyle factors such as access to the coast are playing an important role in buyer decision-making. The inclusion of homes in Midlothian and the Scottish Borders highlights that interest is spreading across the wider region, and buyers are prepared to look beyond city boundaries for the right property.
“The price range of £285,000 to £1.5 million, with an average of £545,000, indicates a market engaging across different budget levels. High-value properties are still attracting significant attention, showing confidence among buyers with greater purchasing power. The fact that four of the ten most viewed homes were already under offer by the end of September illustrates that well-presented, move-in-ready homes continue to generate strong demand. With all but one property marketed as ‘offers over,’ sellers clearly feel assured about market conditions, and this confidence is likely to support continued activity as we move into the Autumn months.”
