The surrounding areas are very popular with salmon fishing on the River Tweed, trout fishing on local lochs and rivers along with grouse and pheasant shooting at several local estates. Other nearby attractions include the 14th century Duns Castle and Wedderburn Castle, both wedding and events venues and Manderston House; an opulent Edwardian country house with its famous silver staircase and gardens that are open to the public. Berwick lies approx. 15 miles east and to the west is Galashiels which is approx. 30 miles. Both these towns offer rail links to Edinburgh, the line from Berwick being the main East Coast Line. By car, Edinburgh is approx. 47 miles, with Newcastle to the South being approx. 78 miles. Both these cities offer excellent airport facilities. Externally The front door come into the house straight from the pavement with paved areas each side of the porch. To the side there is block paved parking and access through into the enclosed south-facing rear garden. The rear garden has various paved and planted areas and has a shed, greenhouse, and log store.
