After four months, and with over 2,700 entries, we are pleased to finally announce the lucky recipient of £5,000 towards a first home deposit as part of our first time buyers' prize draw.

Our CEO Paul Hilton was in the ESPC showroom to randomly select a winner from the hat, and we are pleased to announce that the prize goes to Aimee Lawrie, a 29 year old support worker and student nurse.

Aimee and her partner, who currently rent, have been thinking about buying their own home for the past year and have been saving up as much as possible.

"I didn't think it was real when I first got the phone call to say I had won", "Aimee says. "I was jet-lagged and wasn't expecting a call, but I'm glad I answered the phone. I remember filling the form in to enter but it was such a big prize that I couldn't imagine winning. My friends can't believe it either."

She adds: "It's challenging to save for a deposit with all the other things to pay such as rent, but I've been putting something into savings each month and we hope to be able to buy somewhere in Portobello by Christmas. This money is really going to help. My partner is a first time buyer too and we started looking into getting a mortgage last week, so it feels like it was meant to be."

We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone for getting involved. We've been running the prize draw since February. In between the prize draw we also had five spot prizes to give away including free mortgage and legal advice as well as great local mystery prizes. Thank you for the support and for getting involved in this prize draw. Watch this space for future initiatives!
