The Role

At Gillespie Macandrew we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal administrator to join our established Residential conveyancing team based in Morningside, Edinburgh. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive administrative support to the conveyancing team and assist them in carrying out conveyancing work on behalf of clients.

Some of the key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting letters and legal documents for the team
  • Undertaking searches with Local Authority and Land Register of Scotland
  • Preparing Land Registration and LBTT forms
  • Assisting with preparation of fee notes
  • Liaising directly with clients and other parties
  • Compliance with Anti Money Laundering (AML) procedures in onboarding clients

The role requires a highly motivated, pro-active and confident team player with the ability to prioritise a high volume workload to an exceptional standard.  The successful applicant will possess excellent attention to detail skills and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships. It is also important for the candidate to have proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have experience in a similar administrative or secretarial type role within the legal property sector. This is a full-time position, however consideration will also be given to part-time and flexible working offering a degree of flexibility in your place of work.
