The property

Douglas Cottage is a unique Detached Property which enjoys a prime central location within the picturesque village of North Queensferry. Although it has not been able to establish the exact date it is interesting to note an entry in Wikipedia “houses in Main Street and Post Office Lane are dated 1693 and 1776”. The internal accommodation which has picture postcard views of the world famous ‘Forth Road Bridges’ and harbour comprises entrance porch, spacious lounge (over 20ft x 20ft), dining kitchen, w.c. and large utility room on the ground floor. Upstairs boasts three double bedrooms, a generous bathroom with four piece suite, along with additional loft space. Douglas Cottage is further enhanced by gas fired central heating. Of particular note are the attractive enclosed walled rear gardens which form a delightful suntrap again with spectacular outlooks and have been designed with low maintenance in mind. North Queensferry is a picturesque Fife village which lies only a few miles north of Edinburgh. Situated on the banks of the Firth of Forth, the village takes its name from St. Margaret of Scotland, wife of Malcolm III, King of Scotland. St Margaret is said to have established the village to ensure pilgrims travelling to St Andrews would be able to cross the Firth of Forth. The village has excellent local amenities catering for most daily needs with more extensive shopping to be found in South Queensferry just over the Forth Road Bridge or in Dalgety Bay and Dunfermline, all of which are but a short journey by either public or private transport. Schooling for all ages is to hand while for those needing to commute there is swift access by road or rail to all areas of commerce within the central belt. For those needing to travel further afield for either business or pleasure, Edinburgh and Glasgow International Airports can be reached in 20 – 60 minutes respectively. Close to Edinburgh but benefiting from the calm of coastal Fife, the area is also well served by excellent sporting, leisure and recreational facilities. Of particular note is Deep Sea World and the Fife Coastal Path to name but a two.
