ESPC sponsored athlete Libby Clegg is competing in the upcoming IPC Athletic World Championships, where she will be looking to defend her 100m T12 title as well as improve on the bronze medal she received in the 200m T12 race.

The IPC Athletic World Championships

The Championships take place from 18-29 July in Lyon and will see athletes from all around the world compete in one of the first major gatherings for track and field stars since the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Libby is hopeful that the good start to her training so far this year will bring about positive results in Lyon.

Good luck Libby!

Everyone at ESPC is wishing Libby the best of luck for her races and hoping that she comes back with the gold again!

About Libby and ESPC

ESPC started sponsoring Libby in 2012 and a recent deal will see the sponsorship continue until 2016, seeing her compete not only in the Lyon championships but also the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014, World Championships in Doha in 2015 and before the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016.

Libby was first introduced to ESPC during a 2-week work placement with the company before the Beijing Paralympics, whilst she attended The Royal Blind School in Edinburgh. Since the age of nine, Libby has suffered from a deteriorating eye condition known as Stargardt's Macular Dystrophy disease.  Libby has only slight peripheral vision in her left eye, and is registered blind. She has two younger brothers that have the same condition.
