On Sunday 22nd May 2011 the EMF will incorporate a full marathon, half marathon and the ever popular hairy haggis team relay.

As well as the full and half marathons running enthusiasts can choose to take part in the 10k, 5k and Junior Race on Saturday 21st May.

With over 30,000 entries expected in the 2011 EMF, entries will see a 10 fold increase since the marathon was started in 2003, which had 3,000 runners taking part. Runners World has rated the event as the Best Scottish Race of any distance (Feb 2008), Fastest Marathon in the UK (May 2008) and one of the World's Top 10 City Marathons (May 2010). It's no wonder the event has gathered a must do reputation for UK runners.

Standard Entries to all races in the festival are filling up so don't leave it too late or you may miss out. Standard places in the full marathon reached capacity in early January and places in the half, 10k, 5k and Junior Races are filling quickly. We have set entry limits for all the races and places are allocated on first-come, first served basis. If you don't want to miss out getting a place in the EMF please enter NOW while places are still available.

For 2011, ESPC's 40th year of business, we are encouraging people to 'Get moving with ESPC' in the exercise sense as well as, what you would expect, the house sense! ESPC is supporting a number of events across the area, including the Edinburgh Marathon, to encourage and inspire the people of East Central Scotland to keep their body and brain active in 2011.
